Re: 0.64 new colonist timer continues running on pause

I haven't tested whether it's still the case... but there also used to be a bug where the mission timers wouldn't reset upon starting a new game (or loading one?) So you could start... quit.. start again and the timers would still be relative to the FIRST playthrough. Since you're looking at timers ...

Re: crash when colonist plays his music for me while music disabled [0.62 Linux]

Simon, this might be a Linux only bug. I just tried the same thing with the current build (0.62) on Windows7 (64bit): - Switched off the main music in the Auditory settings menu (I switched off AFTER starting the mission). - Played long enough for colonist to ask if I'd like to listen to his avant g...

Re: Playing with no middle mouse button

After a bit of messing this afternoon, I came up with answers for your problems... R and T are only used to rotate objects as you place them. Whilst they aren't mentioned in the CONTROLS options menu, you can Zoom in and out using the PGUP and PGDN (PageUp and PageDown) keys. EDIT: I initially thoug...

Re: Can't run the game

... when I tried to launch it, I can't. An unexpected error appears and closes the game. Could you take a screen shot of the unexpected error and post it here? Or could you write down more details of what the error actually is? Are you running Windows 10 ? (or Windows 7, 8 or 8,1?) What screen reso...

Re: [0.57] Dying of hypothermia

With most of the recent builds, an atmosphere generator in a couple of rooms is usually enough to keep heat levels high enough to avoid colonist dying. It might be you're waiting too long to build your atmosphere generator(s) or not building enough of them. What I would advise is as soon as your wor...

Re: [Suggestion] Tidy up the Main Menu

The latest update to the current menus are making the menu structure even more convoluted. It's menu's within menus for very little benefit. With menu options seemingly reflecting the technical infrastructure rather than just being a clear and simple menu that is familiar to most gamers and straight...

Re: What happened to Linux version ?

Best guess, Simon forgot to update the website with the Linux version. tbh, I'm surprised to see the 0.57 Windows version there - Simon was getting really bad at updating the downloads area of his own site for a while. If you have access, you might want to try see if Steam has the 0.57 build of Maia...

[Testing 0.56] Normal Gameplay. Base Delta.

This video was primarily as a reply to someone on the Steam forums who was having problems. I just wanted to demonstrate that hypothermia and starvation could be relatively easily tackled with minimum fuss by early building of atmosphere generators. I was a bit slow starting my food production and a...

Re: [Suggestion] More (and better) colonist names.

ah ha.

I got the TNG reference. But not the Buffy one. (which I should have, I watched enough of them). :D
My reply was a bit too dry though. Too much explanation, not enough fun.

Re: [Suggestion] More (and better) colonist names.

No Riker or Summers when you have Picard and Schneider? :D I just went through the "Top 100 Surnames" type lists on websites for countries in Western Europe and picked out the names that were familiar to me. I think I may have dipped into USA, Canada and Mexico too. While working through each list,...
