Re: Solar Flares, Meteor Impacts and Earthquakes.

Pretty, though I'd believe you as well if you said you detonated a nuke a few km to the left.

*cough* hint: throw in another >5 MB .gif? *cough*

Re: Character Infotips

Awesome. Though if you go for realism you should know that 'skin temperature' is often several degrees below 38 C (core temperature).(I remember I was startled when I found out my hands were only ~28 C, though that seems to be normal for such far-away parts of our bodies). For 'HP' or game-mechanic-...

Re: The Man Who Fell To Earth on BBC iplayer!

BBC iPlayer availeble in the UK only. Damned bloody old-media tycoons and conservative law-makers tryin' to force their old pre-internet national restrictions on us, the Global Community. Down with the censors! Get the pikes and torches! *yawn* Grabs proxy from 'ye old box of tricks'. Thank you for ...

Re: Maia Alpha Milestone Progress 0.27

'Milestone Progress'? You mean 'teaser'.

At the time of this posting there is no list of milestones whatsoever, so you are just posting this so you can (not so subtle) inform us of (tease us with) a new release at the 31st (31th?)...

:D Alarms have been set in my agenda.

Re: Kickstarter mails.

Don't forget to the 'kickstarter-' part is part of the key. I failed my first (indiegogo) attempt as well, then tried copy-pasting the entire 'indiegogo-*lots of randomness*', and that worked. Kickstarter backers: Welcome in the club! Now you can enjoy the same super-secret dev-progress-info we have...

Re: Maia Backer Alpha 0.26 release notes.

Members portal is 'under maintenance'.

My guess is that we DDoS'd (or otherwise overloaded) our own members portal :P.

I'll try again in a few days.

Capt'n, this is MADNESS, if we try this we risk a server core breach! - Mister Scott, you must increase the server output! I'll give it all she's got Capt'n! Lets hope she will hold together... - Increase the structural integrity field! Reverse shield polarity! Enable emergency force-fields! Dafuq.....

Re: Minerals

One thing where DF certainly chose gameplay over realism is removal of rubble. A mining operation that removes X volume of earth should realistically produce X volume of rubble, which would have to be removed or else would clog the whole base. The minerals in the screenshot above seem to be a lot s...

Re: Maia Members Portal is up :)

So, anything new for the Kickstarter backers? Did you manage to solve your emailing problem, Simon? The email problem is more of a 'overly-enthusiast spam filter' problem. Not really something Simon can do much about. When the mail goes out to the kickstarter backers we will probably get the same i...

Re: Pathfinding accuracy rewrite

About map size... how deep will we be able to go? If we are getting a cube with a 2km rib size, I sure hope there will be caves and cave-critters as well... In DF, the most 'fun' was deep down below. The surface doesn't really pose a challenge as soon as you build a draw bridge (and perhaps a lava s...
