Game doesn't start at all

Post by Enigmaticatious » Tue Dec 10, 2013 7:29 am

Understand that you guys are still working on the game and there will be issues, provided as much information as I can to try and be helpful. Would love to be able to start it up and give it a whirl.

DxDiag
http://pastebin.com/GmpbbXTb

(And yes they are the latest drivers from the OEM of the laptop, which hasn't had any problems running a myriad of latest games set with max graphics, including Minecraft with 512x textures)

Output from command line
You can see from here that it downgrades to OpenGL 32 without any apparent problems and everything else seems to successfully compile. Would have thought if there was an issue with the OpenGL version it wouldn't have successfully downgraded and carried on.

At this point it would not let be go any further.

I have a Toshiba labtop
Satellite L305D-S5934

I would imagine that the computer i am playing with does not have a good graphic card.
I would like to play the game and would hope that something can come out of this.

Thank you

Any luck with the new update? That might be fixed for you now?

Unfortunately not. There is a minor difference however. Right before it displays the name of my graphics card it has switched from OpenGL 32 to OpenGL 31, but all other details are the same.

Having a look at the other person's console output I can see that his tried to downgrade all the way to OpenGL 1, which then begs the question. If you are able to downgrade that far, then why didn't mine attempt to go down to that point instead of stopping at OpenGL 31 and saying everything compiled successfully for the system? It would seem to suggest that there must be a problem in the code for everything to be reported as successful (ie no errors anywhere), and still crash.

is it possible to add a configuration file option to choose the OpenGL version to use?

I am successfully able to run games like Minecraft that use OpenGL, and I do it with 512x texturepacks and max settings on everything else without a problem, so I know the issue isn't the graphics card itself.

Just wanted to let you know, I have been downloading each version, right up to the latest, and it was still crashing. Then about a week ago AMD released new Catalyst drivers, which I installed after the last update (0.39?), and now I am able to play the game.

So am up and running :)
