Papers, please

A (very) beta little indie game that's available for free. Here, you get to play as an immigration officer for a former communist country.

It's actually a lot more fun than it sounds ;)

Initially, your job is simply to deny entrance to all foreigners. Gradually, the game introduces more restrictions, complications and throws tons of documents at you with each new arrival. Currently it only lasts for 10 days, I believe, but on day 10 I was juggling 4 forms for each arriving foreigner, plus x-raying all the people from one particularly troublesome country. It was great.

I strongly suggest you give it a try :D

Pretty good, nice bits of humour too, esp the guy who just keeps coming back XD

There's a better version than that link with a few more features at the site's front page; http://pope.jeffsys.net/index.php#ppl

Entrance... DENIED! Seriously though, how do I mark ISS as invalid and how do I announce that they've got no papers...

you click on the section that mentions it in you manual, and then on the space where you recieve documents, but of course they only need a supporting documents if they're a forgiener....

I got stuck on one for ages because the picture looked like a man to me, and it was meant to be a female... :o

A bureaucracy simulator? What an... interesting... project. =)

It appeals to my inner sadist :)

"Oh, your husband went through fine, but they wouldn't give you a permit, and you'll be killed if you go back? Oh dear. *DENIED* Have a nice day now"

She'll be killed, but I'll lose 10 creds and not be able to pay my heating bills!

Being a merciless bureaucratic denial machine is fun.

I actually did one play through where I just denied EVERYBODY. It was great. My whole family lived :P

There's a new release out, but it's mostly bugfixes.

RPS also did an article and you can vote for the game on Greenlight!
