KSP is definitely awesome. I just finished an equitorial relay network today with the Remotech plugin! Now I just need to map the planet with ISAMapsat. =D
Those two are indeed must have plugins for maximum immersion.

I can also recommend the Lazor camera plugin (great for any lander/orbital probe, it really completes the 'scientific instruments' set.

I actually just installed the MuMech Static Camera plugin, though it seems to be a little glitchy, I'm guessing it hasn't been updated for .19. I'll have to try out the Lazor one, thanks for the suggestion!

Also, I'm happy to report that my mapping and kethane detection of Kerbin went well. :D

The KSS is now in orbit. :D

It's at a 190km orbit and has 3 docking connectors. :)

Somewhat old-ish, in that it was before the mod structure changes but shot of my communications grid using a mod with KSP that requires ships and probes to have communication lines with mission control or a manned command module:

I had so much fuel and RCS left over that I actually managed to safely deorbit the whole craft and land standing upright it without incident!

MISSION TO EVE (No autopilot/mods)

Rocket: A pretty complex setup that took a while to tune. Lots of fuel transfer systems to peel off as we go. Several test rockets failed to reach orbit and had to be ditched by deorbital disposal.

Transfer to Eve took several months.

The final retrograde burn cost nearly all the fuel, but orbit was achieved by a hairs breadth.

Falling into the atmosphere, the last of fuel and RCS were burnt to slow the rovers descent.
Descent.jpg
Landing was achieved at a gentle 4m/s.

Mission to the arctic.

After a dual engine craft made it to the edge of the ice caps, I reworked the plane, a huge delta wing craft, into a lighter single engine configuration.
